Delias hyparete prefer woods and gardens.
They are high flyers, preferring to fly around tall trees to sip the nectar from flowers. Occasionally, they will feed on nectaring flowers closer to the ground.
They are a very distasteful butterfly with their bright colors reminding predators of their bad taste, which deters the predators, such as birds, spiders, mammals like bats, insects like mantises and dragonflies from eating them.
They have a dark body with medium length antennae.
The females have yellow, white, and orange red wings with black lines.
The males, on the other hand are paler.
The female’s bright colors are on the ventral side of the wings.
The dorsal side is white with black veins (lines).
*The Painted Jezebel's wings are capable of thermoregulation, allowing it to adjust its body temperature independently of the environment.
A Painted Jezebel is known to be a scheming woman.

The single biggest threat to butterfly survival is habitat destruction!!
