Butterfly populations are a very good indicator of the health of an area's ecosystem !!
Cepora nerissa lives in the north western Himalayas up to 4,000 feet / 1,200 m. They are also found in Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, Bengal, central, western and southern India, and Ceylon.
The ventral side forewing surface is predominantly white, with the veins darkened yellow to brown
The female has paler and larger markings than the male.
Avg. wingspan : 50 – 60 cm / 1.96 – 2.36 “
